Together with Simone Detmar's team at TNO we did a combined normative/empirical study on informed consent in relation to newborn screening. The NWO-funded project  led to several publications reporting about qualitative studies into views of parents about consent to newborn screening (which is not a mandatory programme in the Netherlands), and several papers and a dissertation in practical ethics by Niels Nijsingh. Niels defended his dissertation in February 2012.
